Meet Genius Yield’s Team Dr. Lars Brünjes — C.T.O

Dr. Lars Brünjes is the Director of Education at IOHK, the company building Cardano, and currently teaches Plutus, Cardano’s smart contract language, to thousands of developers in the Plutus Pioneer Program.

First of all, please introduce yourself to us. How and when have you started? How did you get involved in crypto? What’s your role in Genius Yield?

My name is Lars Brünjes, and I am a German mathematician holding a PhD in pure mathematics from Regensburg University in Bavaria in Southern Germany.

I started programming in my early teens and have been working professionally on Software Development for 15 years. I also have a passion for teaching and have taught Haskell and

Blockchain Technology all over the world, both in-person and virtual, to Thousands of students.

I got into crypto five years ago when I joined Input-Output. I am fascinated by its mathematical nature and its great potential to improve the lives of billions of people.

I am the CTO at Genius Yield. I want to use my decades of experience in software development, mathematics, and crypto to lead our technologies’ development, maintenance, and constant improvement.

What is the main purpose and reasons for the project??? How confident are you about it? What is the power and motivation behind it?

The main purpose of the project is to offer the power and potential of decentralized exchanges to everybody. Decentralized exchanges let users swap assets with ease and without the need to trust a central authority, and they allow investors to provide liquidity and thereby earn fees from people using the exchange. Due to the fact that we will build on Cardano, we benefit from Cardano’s high level of assurance and cutting-edge technologies. This fills me with a lot of confidence.
Such technologies are not easy to understand for the layperson, though, which makes our determination to offer an intuitive and easy-to-understand interface to our users so important.

Genius Yield has its native token $GENS. Would you please share use cases?

The $GENS token will be used to power all of Genius Yield’s services and offerings, making it the glue that binds everything together.

So many DeFi projects out that can you point out few points that make Genius Yield different from others?

Genius Yield builds on Cardano, a third-generation blockchain with low fees, high levels of assurance backed by formal methods, and high throughput and scalability.
It also combines cutting-edge DeFi technology with an intuitive user interface, hiding the complexity from our users while at the same time not depriving them of the underlying power.
Finally, using the newest AI techniques, Genius Yield will optimize yields also for inexperienced users who are new to the space and have little or no prior experience.

How will you handle your positions with IOHK and Genius Yield?

My positions as Director of Education with Input-Output and as CTO with Genius Yield ultimately serve the same goal, to use cutting-edge blockchain technology to improve the lives of people all over the world. For me, the two roles complete each other perfectly, teaching Cardano technologies, on the one hand, developing a specific use case on the other. Input-Output needs companies to use their technologies to solve real-world problems, and Genius Yield crucially relies on these technologies. I, therefore, believe that my two roles are a perfect match, theory, and education, on the one hand, a specific application on the other.
